Happy one month birthday to our sweet Brynlee Jo!! It's been a wild, wild ride but man was it all worth it! Especially when you peek into her isolette and see that adorable little girl and you just fall in love all over again!!
Lately I've just been staying at the hospital with Brynlee in between cares instead of going back and forth. It's a lot less stressful and I actually seem to be getting more done, which is nice. We have a busy couple weeks coming up including my baby shower this weekend, which I'm really excited for!! Today (Tuesday) the developmental therapist came in to look at Brynlee and see how she was growing and maturing. She was very happy with everything she saw and was actually very impressed at some of the things she was already knowing how to do, which was encouraging (one example is the therapist kind of held Brynlee in a sitting position and put her pacifier into her mouth, and Brynlee pulled both hands up to her mouth to hold onto her paci!). She did have to get a shot today, which broke my heart to watch, but after having to watch them put an IV in her, I'll take watching a shot any day. They upped her food again which is crazy to believe that much food goes into that tiny of a person, and an even tinier belly. As of tonight, she finally weighs 3 pounds! Each new pound is a big deal! She had lost a little weight because of the pee medicine she was on (read previous blog) but she's getting back up there. Yesterday, they turned her air flow down from 4 liters to 3, and she's been tolerating that great! Her oxygen is down too! They said when the time comes to go home, she may have to go home on oxygen which isn't uncommon. But we'll just have to wait and see.
One of my favorite things is watching Darren with her. He's already such a great daddy. I can't wait to watch them interact together when we can finally go home. He's so gentle with her and uses such a soft, sweet voice and is so good at calming her when she gets worked up.
